I may be considering a pretty sad thing someday soon. I may be able to have the tumor removed but that would make her incontinent (and she's already peeing everywhere about every five minutes).
Chloe is 15 and a half years old. Pretty good for a dog that my vet told me wouldn't last past ten (when she was diagnosed with epilepsy).
I love my little "Miss Piggy".
Aww poor baby. I had some friends who had a dog with paralyzed hindquarters from a tumor, and they kept her in doggy diapers and had a whole routine going to keep her clean. She had a little wheeled cart for her hind legs and ran around for a whole year longer than predicted, just as happy as a clam. Luckily, my friend was able to retire and could stay home to take care of the dog, but it is a huge investment of time and energy.
ReplyDeleteStew-be-doo...I'm so sorry. I hope you don't have to make that decision anytime too soon. Hopefully you can enjoy a lovely summer together first.
ReplyDeleteYeah wouldn't it figure that Chloe would end up with a tumor IN HER BUTT?!?!?!?!?! I am pretty much a peace with it. When the time comes I think I'll know. She is a great dog and has been with me through a lot of stuff. I kind of took her for granted with other rescue dogs that took my attention but she's always been there for me. I love her. Always will. And she loves me. And she's very happy. That's all I can ask for.
ReplyDeleteOh and Hi Annanonymous!
